Hi could you give me any solution. Cos my wd passport was working fine. I keeped a lot of files in it. And know I upgrade my mac operating system to OS X Yosemite and my WD was working with this system all so. but just first day. and next day then I tryed to connect it. it didnt mount on the desktop and even in disk utility. And its very strange cos then I connect it to usb the light is flashing and I hear the sound thet its working but just not mounting. please give me an answer how is possible to save my files. thanks
My Mac formatted Western Digital My Passport External HD crapped out and doesn't start. Anyone know how to resuscitate these things? Any data recovery solutions out there? Doesn't mount to desktop. It got knocked out of th USB cable a couple times while it was plugged into the MacBook and running. I've tried other USB cables. Hello, I'm using a WD my passport air 1TB on macbook air. Yesterday it got disconnected without ejecting by accident and this morning, it failed randomly. I now cannot mount the drive anymore, it does appear in system information on my mac, but not in disk utilities. I tried using data rescue 4 to no avail.
Wd My Passport For Mac Not Mounting
I copied a number of Adobe Premier Pro movie files and some mixed Pro Tools files onto a WD My Passport Slim from my Mac Pro in order to work on them on vacation. When I plug the external drive into my MacBook it won't mount. The power light is on so I know the drive is getting power through the USB cable. Connected the external HD to my Mac but it won’t mount. I tried mounting with `diskutil mount /dev/pathToDisk` and `diskutil mount readOnly /dev/pathToDisk` but it won’t mount. The disk is formatted in the Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format (HFS+). I downloaded WD Drive Utilities software to check the HD and it passed WD checks.
